O’Neil Gas & Plumbing Ltd – Ayrshire

If you’re an experienced Gas & Plumbing Engineer looking for long-term job security, varied work and a company where you can continue developing your career, we’d like to speak to you.

O’Neil Gas & Plumbing has been established for more than 30 years. We have built a strong local reputation, employ around 25 people and complete more than 15,000 jobs every year.

A major strength of our business is our 7,000+ O’Neil Care members, providing our engineers with a large, reliable workload throughout the year — not just during the busy winter months.

Alongside servicing and repairs, we install around 400 boilers a year and are continuing to develop our commercial gas, air-conditioning and renewable divisions.

We’re looking for experienced engineers who want more than simply their next job. We want people who value security, a good working environment, varied work and the opportunity to become better engineers and progress their careers.

What We Offer

* £29,700–£33,500 basic salary, depending on experience
* Opportunity to earn £38,000+ through overtime, incentives and performance bonuses
* Regular overtime available
* Full-time, permanent employment
* Consistent year-round workload
* Company van and fuel
* 29 days’ holiday
* Enhanced sick pay
* Workplace pension
* Smartphone and gas analyser
* Internal technical training
* Paid external training and CPD
* Opportunities to progress into commercial gas, air conditioning, renewables, installations and supervisory roles

A *Stable Company With Plenty of Work*

Job security matters.

Our business isn’t dependent on finding enough work each month to keep engineers busy. More than 7,000 customers already pay for ongoing O’Neil Care membership, creating a substantial base of servicing, repair and maintenance work throughout the year.

Combined with approximately 400 boiler installations annually, private plumbing and heating work and our developing specialist divisions, this gives our engineers the security of joining an established business with a strong future workload.

*More Than Servicing Boilers Every Day*

Depending on your experience and interests, your work can include:

* Boiler servicing, fault-finding and repairs
* Gas appliance servicing and repairs
* Domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance
* Boiler installations and replacements
* O’Neil Care and private customer work
* Opportunities to develop into commercial gas
* Air conditioning
* Heat pumps and renewable technologies

We try to use engineers where their strengths are best suited while giving them opportunities to develop new skills.

*We Invest in Good Engineers*

We want people to be better engineers after 12 months with O’Neils than they were when they joined us.

We have our own training facilities at our Ayr head office and provide practical support, internal training and external courses.

For engineers who want to progress, our growing business can provide opportunities to move into higher-skilled and higher-paid work, including commercial gas, installations, air conditioning, renewables, specialist technical work and future supervisory positions.

*Who We’re Looking For*

Ideally, you’ll have at least three years’ post-qualification experience and be confident working independently in customers’ homes.

You should have:

* Current ACS qualifications
* CCN1
* CENWAT or CEN1
* CPA1
* CKR1
* HTR1
* SVQ Level 3 or equivalent
* Full UK driving licence
* Your own hand tools
* Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
* A professional and customer-focused approach

Most importantly, we’re interested in engineers who take pride in their work, are reliable and want to continue learning and improving.

*Already in a Job? We’d Still Like to Talk*

We’re not expecting every good engineer to be actively looking for another job.

You might be reasonably happy where you are but interested in greater job security, more varied work, better training or longer-term career opportunities.

If that’s the case, we’d be happy to have a private and completely informal conversation about O’Neil Gas & Plumbing and what we could potentially offer you.

You don’t need to commit to applying or even send us a CV initially.

If you’re interested, apply through Indeed or simply get in touch for a confidential chat.

*Sometimes it’s worth having the conversation*.
