About the role

Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be working with our client in Lisburn to recruit a Transport Planner to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-focused professional with experience in logistics, transport, or warehousing to play a key role in ensuring efficient and cost-effective delivery operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and allocate deliveries in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Schedule and assign work to drivers, confirming delivery and booking dates.
  • Ensure customer delivery requirements are met and service levels maintained.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Produce delivery schedules, reports, and operational documentation.
  • Liaise with Customer Services and Sales teams to manage delivery expectations and resolve issues proactively.
  • Verify order information before scheduling deliveries.
  • Manage workload effectively while handling customer enquiries across multiple communication channels.
  • Maintain accurate records and provide information as required.
  • Meet performance targets, deadlines, and service standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer service.
  • Uphold company values and deliver excellent customer care at all times.

Criteria

  • Previous experience as a Transport Planner or within a similar logistics environment.
  • Strong understanding of transport-related IT systems.
  • Good geographical knowledge of Northern Ireland, Great Britain, and the Republic of Ireland.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to identify and drive operational improvements.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all business levels.
  • Able to perform well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
