Are you looking for a long-term full-time or flexible support role starting this coming autumn term in a welcoming Luton primary school?

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a long-term position starting September 2026 at a modern primary school in Luton. Working closely with pupils who require targeted academic, social, or emotional guidance, this role is ideal for someone committed to helping every child access the curriculum and achieve their personal best.

Core Responsibilities

  • Targeted Interventions: Lead structured 1:1 and small group intervention sessions focusing on literacy catch-up, basic numeracy, and social skills development.
  • Social & Emotional Support: Help pupils build self-regulation skills, foster positive peer interactions, and boost their self-esteem throughout the school day.
  • Classroom Integration: Assist the class teacher in managing classroom dynamics and ensuring all pupils remain engaged, focused, and included.
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor daily pupil engagement and academic progress, sharing key observations with the SENCO and class teachers to inform learning plans.
  • Child Safeguarding & Safety: Maintain strict safeguarding standards across classroom activities, transitions between lessons, and break times.

Candidate Requirements
  • Relevant Experience: Background supporting children in a primary school, nursery, youth organisation, or educational setting (a Level 2/3 TA or LSA qualification is preferred).
  • Core Strengths: Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, emotional resilience, and a solid understanding of foundational primary literacy and maths.
  • Proactive Mindset: A positive, hands-on approach with a genuine commitment to working collaboratively within a school team.
  • Vetting Checks: An Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service (or readiness to complete a new application via Randstad).
