• Salary Range: £37,280 - £42,839 per annum (Band 7 Level 2 to Band 8 Level 3)

• Financial Bonus: £2,400 per annum Market Factor Supplement for Band 8 (Level 3) Social Workers

• Contract Options: Full-Time Permanent OR 12-Month Fixed-Term Contracts (FTC)

• Caseload Cap: Capped workloads aiming to limit caseloads to approx. 20 children

Are you an experienced Children's Social Worker looking to practice in a forward-thinking local authority that prioritises low caseloads, competitive pay, and strong multi-agency working?

Trafford Council is currently recruiting 7 full-time Social Workers to join their dedicated Support & Protection Service across locality bases in Altrincham, Stretford, and Sale. Available on either a permanent basis or a 12-month fixed-term contract, these roles offer a attractive salary scale of £37,280 - £42,839 per annum alongside a focus on sustainable, long-term work with families and young people.

The Support and Protection service works with children when their needs have escalated to Child Protection or when Care Proceedings have been initiated. You will work in partnership with families and multi-agency partners to protect children, delivering sustainable interventions that enable children to live safely with their families wherever possible.

• Manageable Workloads: Commitment to cap caseloads to around 20 children, ensuring you have the time to deliver quality, relational social work.

• Competitive Salary & Supplements: £37,280 - £42,839 per annum, plus an additional £2,400/year Market Factor Supplement for Band 8 (Level 3) practitioners.

• SWE Reimbursement: Trafford Council reimburses your annual Social Work England (SWE) registration costs.

• Experience: Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience within statutory Children's Social Care (Child Protection / Care Proceedings).

• Transport: Must be a car driver with access to a vehicle.
