We’re looking for a highly motivated Security & Protection Specialist to join our dynamic Health, Safety & Wellbeing Service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead on security management across a diverse range of council premises, public meetings, and high‑profile events, while helping to shape our organisational response to the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act (Martyn’s Law).
In this pivotal role, you will provide expert advice, set strategic direction, and work closely with colleagues, property teams, emergency services, and elected members to ensure robust, practical, and effective security arrangements. You’ll be at the forefront of developing and implementing the council’s security protocols, leading risk assessments, overseeing incident investigations, and driving continuous improvement in our security culture.
You will bring a strong foundation of security risk management expertise, supported by relevant professional qualifications such as Level 4 Security Risk Management, counter terrorism training, and experience in policing, protective services, event or crowd safety environments, or equivalent operational security roles.

The role is base is Stafford and is fulltime working Monday to Friday with occasional requirement for out of hours working /weekend working.
