West Northamptonshire is a place of huge opportunities and endless possibilities. Proud of our heritage, ambitious about our future, and driven by a clear, shared vision: to make West Northants a great place to live, work, visit and thrive.
As one of the UK's newest unitary authorities, we have already achieved a great deal. Now we are entering our next phase of transformation, focused on delivering excellent services, driving innovation, ensuring financial sustainability and creating an organisation that is fit for the future.
Local government is at a turning point. Communities face increasing complexity, demand for services continues to grow and councils are being asked to deliver more impact than ever before with finite resources. Public expectations are changing and technology is transforming how organisations operate.
We believe these challenges also offer extraordinary opportunities and we are looking for an exceptional Executive Director of Resource to help us harness these.

You have a track record of delivering sustainable organisational change and creating high-performing teams. You are financially astute, politically aware and comfortable operating in complex environments where balancing innovation, governance and performance is essential.
You understand the critical role that finance, technology, people, governance and customer services play in enabling organisational success. You are passionate about using data, insight and modern ways of working to drive improvement and deliver better outcomes.
A collaborative and influential leader, you build trusted relationships with Members, partners, stakeholders and colleagues alike. You bring ambition, resilience and a genuine commitment to public service.
Above all, you are excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of one of the country's most ambitious councils, ensuring we remain financially sustainable, digitally enabled and relentlessly focused on delivering excellent services for our communities.
Ready to shape the future?
If you want to lead somewhere with vision, momentum and room to make your mark, West Northamptonshire is the place. Join us and help our communities, our organisation and our people truly THRIVE.
Interviews will be held on w/c 19th October 2026 in Northampton.
