Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive secondary school in Northampton that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Unqualified Maths Teacher from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a Maths graduate, aspiring teacher, tutor, teaching assistant, or someone with strong subject knowledge who is ready to take the next step towards a career in education. The Role Deliver engaging and well-structured Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, using school-provided resources and lesson plans. Support students in developing their mathematical understanding, confidence, fluency, and problem-solving skills. Establish a positive, calm, and purposeful classroom environment. Adapt your approach to meet the needs of students with different abilities and learning needs. Provide support and encouragement to students to help them make progress. Work alongside experienced teachers and colleagues to develop your classroom practice. Support pupils with revision, intervention, and wider Maths activities where appropriate. Contribute positively to the wider school community and take advantage of professional development opportunities. What We're Looking For A degree in Mathematics or a related subject, or strong demonstrable knowledge of Mathematics. Experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, or similar settings would be advantageous. Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students. A reliable, proactive, and adaptable approach. The confidence to lead a classroom and maintain positive behaviour. A genuine interest in education and a desire to develop towards a teaching career. An interest in routes into teaching such as PGCE, SCITT, or school-based teacher training. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
