About the role
Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++) - Leicestershire
Our client is a leading engineering business operating across the automotive and aerospace supply chain, and they're looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their Product Development team in Leicestershire.
What you'll be doing
- Develop embedded firmware and control strategies in C/C++
- Support the full product lifecycle: prototype → validation → production release
- Build system-level solutions using first-principles engineering thinking (model-based approaches welcome)
- Hands-on verification/validation on real hardware
- Debugging, root-cause analysis and performance optimisation (component + system level)
- Interface embedded control with sensors/actuators using I2C, SPI, CAN, USB
- Work within a process-led environment (testing, problem reporting, change control)
What we're looking for
- Commercial experience in embedded software engineering (C/C++)
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent practical/industrial experience)
- Strong engineering fundamentals (e.g., thermodynamics / fluids / electrical behaviour desirable)
- Track record of delivering products/systems
- Clear communicator, collaborative approach, strong problem-solving and attention to detail
