About the role
SP3D Piping Designer / Plant 3D Modeller
Contract | Remote | Inside IR35
The project involves supporting a large backlog of plant design deliverables, with an immediate requirement for additional resource. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy project and contribute from day one, with the potential for further work as project volumes increase.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain 3D plant models using SmartPlant 3D (SP3D)
- Develop and update piping layouts and associated design deliverables
- Generate and review isometric drawings
- Ensure designs comply with relevant drawing classifications, standards and project requirements
- Work closely with engineering and design teams to deliver high-quality outputs
- Support ongoing project activities for a major US-based client
Essential Experience
- Strong experience using SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) / Hexagon SmartPlant 3D
- Proven background in piping design
- Experience within industrial plant environments
- Strong 3D modelling capability
- Understanding of engineering drawing standards and classifications
- Familiarity with ISO drawings and associated engineering requirements
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Desirable Experience
- Background within thermal power, petrochemical, or similar process industries
- Knowledge of steam systems, ancillary equipment and supporting services
- Previous experience working on US-based projects

Candidate Profile
We are looking for capable SP3D professionals who can quickly integrate into an active project environment and begin contributing with minimal onboarding. Strong technical capability, attention to detail and experience delivering plant design work within highly regulated industries are essential.
