Location: Horsham
Salary:
Starting salary: £13.93 / £30,416 per annum
After 3 months successful probation: £15.32 per hour £33,458 per annum
Hours of work:
42 hours per week Monday - Friday.
Early / Late shift with 1 Saturday in 4
No cover shifts!
A quick look at the role.
Reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for conducting operational tasks at a Mechanical Biological Treatment facility. This role supports the 24/7 operation of the plant through the execution of Standard Operating Procedures, housekeeping activities, and basic maintenance tasks, all in compliance with site Health and Safety rules and Company policies.
The Production Operator will also have opportunities for career development within the West Sussex operation.
Your core responsibilities.
- Daily monitoring of the process plant, reporting any abnormalities to the SCADA Operator or Shift Supervisor.
- Perform housekeeping activities across all site areas.
- Conduct basic maintenance and cleaning tasks on fixed process plant under the direction of the Shift Supervisor and Electrical/Mechanical Technicians.
- Execute tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Regularly inspect site infrastructure.
- Ensure the safety of self and others in accordance with health and safety legislation, Company procedures, and toolbox talks. Report any safety or environmental issues to site management.
- Attend site safety meetings/toolbox talks as required.
- Maintain housekeeping to the safe and high standard required by Biffa.
- Perform any other job-related tasks as required by the Company.
