About the role
£12.71 per hour | Dayshift | Temp to Perm Opportunity
Jackson Hogg are currently recruiting for a General Operator – Secondary Operations to join a growing manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing, production or fabrication experience who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive engineering environment.
Working within the Secondary Operations department, you will play a key role in supporting production activities and ensuring materials and components are prepared to the required specifications.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of general operative duties, with a particular focus on cutting materials and components using workshop machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating saws and chop saws to cut materials to specification
- Preparing components for the next stage of the manufacturing process
- Following work instructions and production schedules
- Carrying out general duties within the Secondary Operations department
- Maintaining quality standards throughout production
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently
- Keeping work areas clean, organised and hazard-free
- Supporting wider production teams as required
Requirements
Essential
- Good work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Strong awareness of workplace health and safety
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable and punctual approach to work
Desirable
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or production environment
- Experience operating saws, chop saws or similar workshop machinery
- Background within sheet metal fabrication or general engineering
- Experience working from production drawings or instructions
Hours of Work
Dayshift
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 12:30pm
Average 38.5 hours per week.
