Senior Full Stack Kotlin DeveloperSalary: £57,500 – £72,000Locations: Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, London, Birmingham or GlasgowWorking Pattern: HybridAre you a Senior Full Stack Kotlin Developer looking for the opportunity to work on complex, meaningful digital transformation projects?We’re looking for an experienced engineer to join a growing digital consultancy, working with a range of public and private sector clients to design and deliver secure, scalable and user-centred digital services.You’ll work as part of multidisciplinary teams alongside engineers, architects, designers, product managers, analysts and delivery professionals. As a senior member of the engineering community, you’ll lead by example, champion technical excellence and support the development of more junior engineers.The RoleYou’ll be responsible for designing, developing and deploying high-quality digital solutions, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders throughout the full software development lifecycle.You’ll:Lead the development of user-centred, production-ready softwareDesign and build robust, scalable backend services using Kotlin, Java and Spring BootDevelop and integrate RESTful APIs and microservicesWork collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex client problemsTake ownership of development and deployment pipelinesWork across cloud environments and modern DevOps practicesCommunicate technical solutions, prototypes and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholdersHelp identify and resolve technical issues and delivery bottlenecksMentor and coach other engineers, helping to raise engineering standards across the teamWhat We're Looking ForYou should have strong, hands-on experience across modern JVM-based software development, with Kotlin at the heart of your recent experience.EssentialSolid, current experience developing in Kotlin and the JVM ecosystemStrong Java development backgroundExtensive experience across the full software development lifecycleStrong experience with Spring Boot and the wider Spring FrameworkExperience designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIsExperience delivering robust, scalable and high-quality digital solutionsStrong understanding of public cloud platforms, ideally AWS, Azure and/or GCPExperience with Docker and KubernetesExperience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly TerraformStrong understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices, using tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOpsExcellent communication and collaboration skillsDesirableExperience with frontend or full-stack technologies such as:Node.jsTypeScriptExpress.jsNunjucksA consulting background would be advantageous, particularly if you have experience working directly with clients, but strong engineers from industry backgrounds will also be considered.Experience mentoring or coaching other developers would also be highly desirable, particularly for candidates operating at the top end of the salary range.Locations: Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, London, Birmingham or Glasgow.
