Manager - Purchasing

Manager, Purchasing – Contract – Greensboro, NC
 
We’re hiring an experienced Purchasing Manager to support the mobilization and ongoing operations of an aerospace facility in Greensboro, North Carolina.
 
This is a hands-on contract opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys building supplier networks, solving supply chain challenges, and working within a fast-paced, international aerospace environment.
 
What you’ll be doing:
 
Lead sourcing and supplier management for goods and services required to successfully mobilize the Greensboro facility
 
Develop a supply chain capable of meeting quality, delivery and cost objectives
 
Identify supplier and supply chain risks and implement effective mitigation plans
 
Manage sourcing activities in accordance with established procurement processes and category strategies
 
Evaluate and select suppliers based on capability, quality, compliance, ESG and CSR requirements
 
Support supplier onboarding, governance and ongoing performance management
 
Work closely with Buyers to ensure purchase orders are placed on time and supplier deliveries remain on schedule
 
Manage purchasing activity within the IFS ERP system
 
Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, cost reduction and cost avoidance
 
Support budgets, forecasts and monthly/quarterly performance reporting
 
Drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
 
Collaborate with operations, procurement and supply chain teams across the U.S. and UK
 
What we’re looking for:
 
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or a related discipline preferred
 
Professional procurement certification such as MCIPS or equivalent is an asset
 
Aerospace, defense, manufacturing or another highly regulated industry background would be highly advantageous
 
Approximately 5–10 years of procurement/supply chain experience, ideally within a multi-site or international organization
 
Strong experience with U.S. sourcing and supplier management
 
Experience sourcing and purchasing indirect commodities, CAPEX and operational support products/services
 
Demonstrated experience managing supplier performance and operational supply chain issues
 
Strong commercial, analytical and problem-solving capabilities
 
Experience working within a cross-functional matrix organization
