Deputy Manager | Children’s Residential Home

Location: Wallasey

Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per year (depending on qualifications and experience)

Hours: Full-time, permanent

Shifts: Flexible shifts including participation in the on-call rota

Shift Times: In line with the needs of the service, including out-of-hours support

Please note: We do not hold licences to support overseas candidates. You must have previous experience working in a senior role within a Children’s Residential Home or similar residential childcare setting.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a Children’s Residential Home located in Wallasey, supporting children and young people aged 7–17.

This role is suitable for candidates commuting from Wallasey, Birkenhead, Bebington, Heswall, Ellesmere Port, Chester, Neston, Hoylake, West Kirby and surrounding areas.

As an experienced Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operation of the home, ensuring children and young people receive safe, effective and person-centred care.

You will provide strong leadership to the care team, supporting, motivating and developing staff while promoting positive outcomes for the children and young people in your care.

You will play a key role in maintaining a nurturing, structured and supportive environment, ensuring high standards of safeguarding, quality assurance and compliance are consistently maintained.

Working closely with children and young people, families, professionals and external agencies, you will help ensure care is delivered in line with the home’s Statement of Purpose, Ofsted requirements and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.

Requirements:

• A positive, caring and compassionate approach to delivering high-quality residential childcare
• Ability to lead, motivate and support a care team effectively
• A motivated, flexible and proactive approach to work
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a senior role within a Children’s Residential Home or similar setting
• Strong understanding of Ofsted requirements and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
• Experience supporting children and young people with complex needs, including EBD and looked-after children
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and promoting the welfare of children and young people
• Experience overseeing care plans, risk assessments and reviews
• Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK without s p o n s o r s h i p
