Location: Leyland
Salary: £13.00–£14.00 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, average 40 hours per week
Casual: Casual work also available
Shift Pattern: Days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays, sleep-ins and lone working

About the Role:
We are looking for caring, committed and resilient Residential Support Workers to join children’s residential care homes in Leyland.
You will play an important role in providing a safe, supportive and homely environment for children and young people, helping them to build confidence, develop independence and learn important social and life skills.
Working as part of a wider care team, you will build positive and trusting relationships with young people, support their individual care plans and ensure their physical, emotional and day-to-day needs are met.
The role will involve supporting young people with their daily routines, education, activities and personal development, while encouraging positive behaviour and helping them to achieve their individual goals. You will also contribute to the smooth running of the home and work closely with Team Leaders, Deputy Managers, Registered Managers, families, schools and other professionals.
This is a varied role where no two shifts will necessarily be the same. You will need to be resilient, flexible and able to remain calm and professional when supporting young people who may display challenging or complex behaviours.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people in a care, residential, education, support or similar setting is desirable.
- A genuine commitment to supporting children and young people and helping them achieve positive outcomes.
- Ability to build positive, trusting and professional relationships with young people.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong record-keeping and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work a varied shift pattern, including nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
- Resilience and the ability to remain calm, patient and professional in challenging situations.
- A proactive and positive approach to supporting young people with their development and independence.
