An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Easton College Equine Centre as an Equine Technician. With continued growth and development, this is a fantastic time to become part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team committed to excellence in equine education and welfare.
In this hands-on role, you will play a vital part in supporting the practical learning experience of our students. You’ll work closely with both staff and learners to demonstrate key skills, supervise yard duties, and help maintain a professional, industry-standard environment.
Alongside supporting teaching and learning, you will be responsible for a range of duties including equine husbandry, feeding, mucking out, health monitoring, record keeping, and exercising horses, ensuring the highest standards of horse care and welfare are consistently achieved.
We are looking for a motivated and reliable team player who thrives in a busy, practical environment. Strong communication skills and a proactive approach are essential, as you’ll be working collaboratively across the Equine Centre.
Key requirements:
- Solid practical experience in horse care (including mucking out and feeding)
- Confident riding ability (walk, trot, canter, and jumping)
- A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to support a varied workload
- A minimum of BHS Stage 2 Complete (or equivalent) for the Technician role. If this hasn’t been achieved, then candidates will be considered for a Trainee position and given the training to achieve their BHS Stage 2. For the Trainee position, a vocational qualification, such as a Level 3 Technical Diploma in Equine Management will be required. The Trainee position will be fixed term until the candidate achieves their BHS Stage 2.
