Green Space and Street Scene Supervisor

Thorn Baker are currently recruiting for a Green Space & Street Scene Supervisor to join a local council on a temp to perm basis.

• Salary: £34,434 per annum, increasing annually

• Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm, Friday 7:30am–12:30pm

• Contract: Temp to Perm

• Location: Ilkeston

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced horticultural or grounds maintenance professional with supervisory experience to oversee green space and street scene operations.

You will be responsible for:

• Supervising and coordinating operational teams.

• Allocating resources and ensuring work is completed safely and on time.

• Overseeing parks, open spaces and play area maintenance.

• Monitoring contractors and external works.

• Providing horticultural advice and support.

• Maintaining high standards across green space and street scene services.

• Supporting events and emergency call-outs when required.

About You

• Previous experience in amenity horticulture, grounds maintenance or a similar environment.

• Experience supervising operational teams.

• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Amenity Horticulture.

• Risk Management/Assessment qualification.

• Good communication and organisational skills.

• Good IT skills.

• Full driving licence.

• Flexible to work occasional evenings, weekends and emergency call-outs.
