About the role
Mechanical Piping Designers – AUKUS / BAE Systems
Location: Manchester / Hybrid
6 positions
Contract: 12 months
Rate/Salary: £34-£40 LTD
Working Pattern: 2 days every 2 weeks onsite
Start date in line with obtaining SC or subject to successful transfer if you already hold full SC.

Previous experience on Dreadnought would be highly advantageous. Must be proficient in Siemens NX.
The Opportunity / role:
We are currently seeking experienced Mechanical Piping Designers to support major engineering programmes associated with AUKUS and BAE Systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced designers with a background in marine, naval, shipbuilding or other highly regulated engineering environments to work on complex, safety-critical platforms.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and developing high-quality 3D piping designs, working closely with engineers and other disciplines to ensure designs meet technical, quality and programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Produce and develop detailed 3D mechanical piping designs using Siemens NX.
Work within Teamcenter to manage engineering data, models, drawings and design documentation.
Develop piping layouts, routes, assemblies and associated mechanical components in accordance with engineering requirements.
Interpret engineering specifications, technical requirements, drawings and design standards.
Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering, quality and safety requirements.
Work collaboratively with Mechanical, Systems, Structural and other engineering disciplines.
Support design reviews, design integration and technical problem resolution.
Identify and resolve clashes and interface issues within the 3D environment.
Produce and update engineering drawings and supporting documentation.
Contribute to design improvements, engineering change and configuration management activities.
Work within established design processes and procedures associated with complex engineering programmes.
Support the wider engineering team throughout the design and build lifecycle.
