Production Operator

BSNI is working with a manufacturing site in East Belfast to recruit a candidate on their Extrusion line.  Forklift licence would be advantageous.

Hours of work:

Shifts on a rota basis:  7am – 3pm, 3pm – 11pm and 11pm – 7am weekends will be included.

Duties:

Operating and monitoring extrusion machines and production equipment.
Feeding raw materials such as plastic pellets, powders, or compounds into the extruder.
Setting machine parameters including temperature, speed, pressure, and output rate.
Monitoring the extrusion process to maintain consistent product quality.
Performing quality checks on dimensions, appearance, weight, and other specifications.
Adjusting machine settings to correct production or quality issues.
Loading and unloading raw materials and finished goods.
Carrying out routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance.
Identifying equipment faults and reporting maintenance requirements.
Recording production quantities, downtime, quality results, and material usage.
Following health and safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
Keeping the production area clean and organised.
Working to production targets and minimizing material waste.
Completing shift handovers and communicating production issues to supervisors.
Following work instructions, technical specifications, and quality-control procedures.
