The Acorn Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Administrator to join our dedicated team.
About The Acorn Centre
The Acorn Centre is a specialist Primary Behaviour Support Provision based in South Oxhey, working in partnership with schools across DSPL9.
We provide a nurturing and supportive environment for primary-aged children who are experiencing difficulties with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) and behaviour. Our aim is to help children develop the skills, confidence and positive experiences they need to succeed.
As an important member of our team, the Administrator will help ensure that the Centre runs efficiently each day, providing a welcoming first point of contact for children, families, schools, professionals and visitors.
About the role
This is a varied and rewarding administrative role within a friendly and supportive environment.
You will provide day-to-day administrative support to The Acorn Centre and the Provision Lead, helping to ensure that information is organised, communication is clear and the Centre operates smoothly.
You will be responsible for a range of administrative and reception duties, including answering telephone calls and emails, welcoming visitors and families, maintaining records, supporting pupil attendance and referrals, and liaising with schools and other professionals.
You will also support with general office organisation, ordering supplies, arranging meetings and events, maintaining displays and dealing with practical issues around the Centre.
The role involves regular contact with children and families, so you will need to be friendly, calm, professional and approachable, while understanding the importance of confidentiality when working with sensitive information.

About you
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and approachable, with good communication skills and a positive attitude.
It is important that you are confident carrying out everyday administrative tasks, are comfortable communicating with a range of people and are willing to learn.
Previous administrative experience would be helpful, but we are particularly interested in finding someone who is reliable, organised, friendly and willing to learn.
Some awareness of SEMH needs and knowledge that 'behaviour is communication' would be useful in your role.
