Location: London / Palestra, Southwark - hybrid working, 2 days per week in the office
Rate: £480 per day Umbrella

Morson Talent are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to support a major London transport organisation across a portfolio of highways and transport infrastructure schemes.

The successful Project Manager will be responsible for approximately six concurrent projects, including a number of bus priority, bus lane and bus corridor schemes, alongside larger strategic road network improvement projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established highways Project Manager who has experience taking schemes through both the early design stages and into delivery.

The role

You will be responsible for managing multiple highways projects, ensuring successful delivery against programme, cost, scope, quality and safety requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing multiple highways and transport infrastructure projects simultaneously
• Taking schemes through feasibility, options development and concept design
• Managing projects progressing towards construction and implementation
• Managing project programmes, budgets, risks, issues and governance
• Coordinating designers, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Managing interfaces and dependencies across concurrent projects
• Supporting procurement, commercial and contract management activities
• Producing and maintaining project implementation plans and reporting
• Driving projects through governance and approval processes
• Managing an Assistant Project Manager
• Maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

We are looking for

Candidates should have demonstrable experience as a Project Manager delivering highways, roads or urban transport infrastructure projects.

Of particular interest will be experience involving:

• Highways construction projects
• Bus priority schemes
• Bus lanes and bus corridors
• Junction improvement schemes
• Strategic road network improvements
• Feasibility and options development
• Concept or preliminary design
• Active travel schemes
• Walking and cycling infrastructure
• Road safety improvements
• Multi stakeholder public sector environments

Experience within London boroughs, local authorities, major transport bodies, highways consultancies or highways contractors would be highly relevant.

APM PMQ, PRINCE2 or another recognised Project Management qualification would be advantageous but is not essential where candidates can demonstrate strong relevant project delivery experience.

Rate: £480/day Umbrella 
Hybrid: 2 days per week based at Palestra, Southwark
