Security ControllerUK Wide | Remote First | PermanentWe are looking for an experienced Security Controller to join a leading digital technology organisation, supporting the delivery of secure, compliant services across complex UK government and regulated environments.This is a senior security role where you’ll play a key part in embedding strong personnel and physical security practices across the organisation. You’ll work closely with central security functions, delivery teams, people teams and senior stakeholders to ensure security policies, procedures and controls are implemented effectively.You’ll have the opportunity to shape security culture, manage security initiatives and ensure the organisation remains compliant with UK Government security requirements.The RoleAs Security Controller, you will:Develop, implement and manage security policies, procedures and protocols covering physical and personnel security.Promote and maintain a strong security culture across the organisation.Communicate relevant security threats, risks and required actions to employees and partners.Conduct security audits, reviews and risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and implementing appropriate corrective actions.Manage security aftercare activities, including Change of Circumstances (CoC), Overseas Travel Briefings and Aftercare Incident Reports (AIR).Support compliance with relevant UK Government security schemes and requirements, including IPSA and Facility Security Clearance.Work with delivery teams, People Support and line managers to implement security improvements and lessons learned.Manage customer security checks and onboarding requirements, ensuring personnel can join projects efficiently while maintaining compliance.Support Government and Contracting Authority visits and inspections, ensuring relevant documentation, processes and records are maintained and readily available.Coach and mentor colleagues on security best practice and contribute to the continued development of the organisation's security capability.About YouWe're looking for someone with a strong background in UK personnel and physical security, ideally gained within a government, defence, national security or highly regulated environment.You should have:Current UK security clearance and be a UK citizen eligible to maintain or obtain SC clearance.Extensive knowledge of HMG BPSS and UK Security Vetting (UKSV) processes.Proven experience developing and implementing physical and personnel security policies and procedures.Experience implementing security risk and threat management processes.Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence people across an organisation.Experience coaching and mentoring colleagues in security best practice.The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and operate effectively under pressure.Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate security records and documentation.Desirable ExperienceIt would be advantageous if you have:Experience working within MOD, Defence, National Security or UK Government environments.Previous experience as a Security Officer, Security Controller or similar security professional.Experience working within a digital, technology or consultancy organisation.Experience working directly with clients or on client sites.Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO).Involvement in security communities of interest, industry forums or professional networks.Why Join?You'll be joining an organisation where security is fundamental to the delivery of technology that supports some of the UK's most important services.This is an opportunity to take ownership of security initiatives, work with senior stakeholders and delivery teams, and play a key role in maintaining robust security standards across complex programmes.Location: UK Wide Working model: Remote First Employment: Permanent Interview process: 2 stages Security: UK citizenship required; candidates must be eligible for SC clearancePlease note: This role does not offer visa sponsorship.
