About the role
About the role A well-capitalised renewable energy platform is expanding its battery storage portfolio in Germany and is seeking an experienced EPC Director to lead the delivery of one or more utility-scale projects. The position will take overall responsibility for engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning, guiding projects from late-stage development and investment approval through to commercial operation and handover. Key Responsibilities Lead the full EPC delivery scope from pre-construction through to commercial operation. Manage engineering advisers, construction partners, contractors and equipment suppliers. Maintain control of project schedules, budgets, risks and technical quality. Oversee QA/QC, testing and commissioning, ensuring a well-documented handover to operations. Protect agreed capital and programme baselines through effective change and claims management. Provide clear reporting on delivery progress, key risks and asset integrity to senior stakeholders. Coordinate relationships with OEMs, grid operators and other technical partners. Support the integration of newly acquired projects into the company's delivery standards and processes. Candidate Profile Strong track record delivering capital-intensive energy or infrastructure projects from investment approval through to commercial operation. Relevant experience within battery storage, renewable energy, power infrastructure or another closely related sector. Proven ability to manage multiple contractors, technical advisers and complex contractual interfaces. Strong understanding of construction quality, commissioning and operational handover. Commercially aware, with experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks and changes. Comfortable reporting to senior leadership and project governance boards. Fluent German and strong knowledge of the German energy market, including grid connection, permitting and regulatory requirements. Able to operate independently, take ownership and make effective decisions within an agreed mandate.
