Production Manager - Residential Construction

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to take ownership of multiple residential builds from commencement through to completion. This is a key role focused on keeping projects moving, coordinating trades, reducing construction cycle times and improving overall productivity.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Manage the production of multiple residential homes from commencement through to completion.
• Maintain forward planning and scheduling to ensure trades are coordinated effectively across multiple sites.
• Identify delays, bottlenecks and production issues early and implement practical recovery plans.
• Manage trade and supplier performance, ensuring commitments and scheduled timeframes are met.
• Work closely with Supervisors and Site Staff to improve productivity, communication and accountability.
• Monitor rework, defects, materials and incomplete works to ensure construction remains on track.
• Report production performance, delays and upcoming requirements to Management.
• Drive continuous improvement across construction systems, processes and cycle times.

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as a Production Manager, Construction Manager, Building Manager, Construction Coordinator or similar within residential construction.
• Strong understanding of residential construction from site commencement through to completion.
• Experience coordinating multiple building sites and trade contractors.
• Strong scheduling, planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent trade management, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive and solutions-focused approach with the confidence to hold trades and team members accountable.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, build programs and recovery strategies.
• Commitment to quality, safety, productivity and delivering excellent customer outcomes.
