Leicester City Council is urgently seeking a highly motivated and analytical Social Worker to join our dynamic Front Door Team. As the first point of contact for children's social care, this team is the critical gateway to safeguarding services across the city.

We are looking for quick thinkers who excel in crisis intervention, triage, and multi-agency collaboration. If you prefer short-term, high-impact assessment work over holding long-term cases, this is the perfect role for you.

• Initial Triage & Assessment: Receive and process initial contacts and referrals from professionals, the police, and the public.

• Risk Analysis: Conduct rapid, threshold-based assessments to determine the appropriate level of intervention (Early Help, Child in Need, or Child Protection).

• Statutory Enquiries: Carry out urgent Section 47 child protection enquiries and initial Section 17 needs assessments within tight statutory timescales.

• Multi-Agency Collaboration: Liaise continuously with police, health professionals, schools, and MASH partners to gather, share, and analyze vital safeguarding information.

• Crisis Intervention: Respond effectively to emergency safeguarding situations, making robust, defensible decisions to ensure immediate safety.

• Qualifications: A recognized Social Work degree (BA/MA/BSc/DipSW/CQSW).

• Registration: Active and unrestricted registration with Social Work England (SWE).

• Experience: A minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in statutory frontline children's services, ideally within Duty, Assessment, or MASH teams.

• Skills: Exceptional analytical skills, resilience under pressure, and the ability to write concise, evidence-based reports quickly.

• Compliance: An Enhanced DBS (on the update service preferred) and Right to Work in the UK.

• Transport: A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for urgent community visits.

• Great Rates: A highly competitive locum rate of £35.00 per hour.
