Learning Support Assistant

Pay: £95 per day

About the Role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in young people's lives? We are currently recruiting for dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join vibrant SEND schools and specialist provisions across Chelmsford.

As an LSA, you will work closely with classroom teachers to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Complex Physical Needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group academic, emotional, and physical support to pupils.

• Assistance with personal care routines, including feeding, hygiene, changing, and manual handling where required.

• Help create an inclusive, safe, and dignified learning environment.

• Assist with classroom management and support individual Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: Previous SEND, personal care, or school-based experience is desirable, but not essential. Full training and support are provided by the school.

• Transferable Backgrounds: We strongly welcome applications from healthcare assistants, domiciliary carers, support workers, sports coaches, youth workers, and graduates.

• Attributes: Patience, empathy, resilience, and a comfortable, respectful attitude toward personal care needs.

• Requirements: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one).
