Are you an ambitious Practice Manager or Senior Practitioner looking for a high-rate management post within an innovative, forward-thinking local authority?
Trafford Council is seeking two experienced Practice Managers to join their Children's Services division. Offering a top market pay rate of up to £46.00 per hour, these pivotal roles sit at the heart of service delivery within the Families First and Support & Protection teams, driving quality assurance, practice excellence, and child-centred outcomes.
Team Breakdown & Key Responsibilities:
Practice Supervision: Provide regular, high-quality reflective supervision, clinical coaching, and management guidance to Social Workers and Advanced Practitioners.
Families First Post: Lead on intensive family support, strengths-based relational practice, and early intervention frameworks to prevent escalation into acute statutory services.
Support & Protection Post: Oversee high-acuity Child Protection (CP), complex Child in Need (CIN) plans, Section 47 enquiries, and Court / PLO proceedings.
Quality Assurance: Audit cases, review statutory assessments, and ensure strict compliance with statutory timeframes and local safeguarding standards.
Deputisation: Work closely with the Team Manager to manage team capacity, oversee duty rotas, and lead multi-agency partnership work.
What We Are Looking For:
Professional Registration: Active registration with Social Work England (SWE).
Experience: Proven track record as a Practice Manager, Senior Practitioner, or Deputy Manager in statutory Children's Services.
Legal Knowledge: Deep working knowledge of the Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and court frameworks.
Skills: Strong reflective leadership, excellent risk management, and the ability to model best practice in complex decision-making.
Why Apply?
Top Regional Rate: Earn up to £46.00 per hour.
Choice of Service: Apply for either early-intervention family support (Families First) or acute statutory safeguarding (Support & Protection).
