About the role

The Opportunity

We are looking for an organised and proactive Marine Works Coordinator to join a busy marine services operation.

Although there are elements of project management within the role, this is primarily an operational coordination position rather than a traditional Project Manager role. Think of the business as a busy garage for commercial boats and vessels. With multiple jobs running at any one time, you'll be responsible for coordinating work, managing priorities and ensuring projects move smoothly from enquiry through to completion.

You'll work closely with customers, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams, making sure the right people, materials and resources are available when needed. No two days are the same, and success in this role comes from being able to stay organised, communicate effectively and keep multiple moving parts under control.

Whilst marine experience would be beneficial, it is not essential. We are keen to hear from candidates with experience in engineering, automotive, manufacturing, construction, facilities management, maintenance, service delivery or other fast-paced operational environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate vessel maintenance, repair, refit, survey and inspection activities.
  • Plan and schedule work across multiple projects and workstreams.
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, providing updates and managing expectations.
  • Coordinate engineers, tradespeople, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure efficient delivery of work.
  • Ensure materials, equipment and operational resources are available when required.
  • Monitor progress, resolve issues and respond to changing priorities.
  • Manage urgent and reactive repair work alongside planned maintenance activities.
  • Work closely with operational, technical and administrative teams to ensure jobs are delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.
  • Record and communicate additional works or changes to project scope.
  • Maintain accurate job records, schedules and customer information.
  • Support the efficient running of day-to-day operations and identify opportunities for improvement.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience coordinating projects, maintenance activities, service operations or operational workloads.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to manage expectations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical mindset.
  • Comfortable working with internal teams, contractors, suppliers and customers.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Desirable Experience

We welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds such as:

  • Marine and maritime services.
  • Automotive service or workshop management.
  • Engineering and manufacturing operations.
  • Construction project coordination.
  • Facilities management.
  • Maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Service delivery or operational coordination roles.

Personal Attributes

  • Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively.
  • Positive, adaptable and proactive.
  • Comfortable working in a busy environment where plans can change quickly.
  • Strong team player.
  • Confident communicator.
  • Practical and solutions-focused.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and keep projects moving forward.

Why Join?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys coordinating people, managing workloads and keeping operations running smoothly. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality marine maintenance and repair projects while working within a supportive and fast-paced team environment.

Whether your background is marine, automotive, engineering, manufacturing, construction or facilities management, we are more interested in your ability to organise, coordinate and deliver than your industry experience. Attitude, communication skills and a willingness to learn are just as important as technical knowledge. The role would suit individuals from a variety of operational backgrounds, including Project Coordinators, Service Coordinators, Maintenance Planners, Workshop Managers, Operations Coordinators and similar positions where effective organisation and stakeholder management are critical to success.
