About the role
Zest Education is recruiting a caring, patient and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 pupil at a primary school in Burntwood. This is a part‑time role, starting September 2026 and continuing until the end of the academic year 2027.
This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping young children build confidence, develop early learning skills and feel supported in the classroom.
About the Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to a Y1 pupil with additional learning, behavioural or emotional needs
- Help the child engage positively with lessons, routines and activities
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to follow support plans
- Encourage independence, resilience and positive learning habits
- Build a trusting, consistent relationship with the pupil
- Contribute to a calm, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment

A Teaching Assistant who:
- Has experience supporting children with additional needs (school‑based or transferable)
- Communicates clearly and works well as part of a team

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
