Twin Maternity Practitioner needed in mid January 2027, based in Hertfordshire

A warm and experienced family are looking for a knowledgeable and confident Twin Maternity Practitioner to support them from mid-January, following the arrival of their twin newborns. As first-time parents to twins and a family of four, they are looking for someone who can provide practical support, reassurance, and guidance as they adjust to their new family dynamic.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience caring for newborn twins and a flexible, nurturing approach. They should be confident in guiding and supporting parents while respecting their choices and ensuring they remain fully involved in their babies’ care.
The family would particularly value someone who is up to date with current newborn care guidance and safer sleep practices, and who can offer practical advice around routines, sleep, feeding, and baby-led approaches without being overly prescriptive.
Breastfeeding support is also important, and the successful candidate should be confident supporting Mum as she establishes breastfeeding with two babies, offering encouragement and practical help with feeding both twins.
The older siblings are very excited about welcoming their new brothers or sisters, and the family would love for them to be included and involved wherever possible. On occasion, when Mum is feeding, the practitioner may also be asked to lend a hand with the older children.
This is a lovely opportunity for an experienced twin practitioner who enjoys working collaboratively with parents, providing calm and knowledgeable support while helping a family confidently navigate the early weeks with their newborn twins.
Due date:mid February 2027 (but likely to come a few weeks earlier)
Job Start Date: Mid January 2027
Contract End: 4 weeks (may extend to 6 weeks)
Location: St Albans, Herts
Gross 24 hourly Rate: £400pd min
Hours of work: 20hr + 4hr break
Nights / Days required: 5 x a week
Specialist or expert required: Certified Maternity Practitioner
Minimum experience Level for this job: 5yrs experience within the role
Details of any qualifications needed for this job: 12hr First Aid, Enhanced DBS, Maternity Practitioner Certificate (L3 minimum).
