The Maritime C5I (Command, Control, Computers, Communications, Cyber, Information) Support Unit (MCSU) is the operational facing unit within Navy Digital that directly supports Royal Navy units around the world.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

Are you an experienced facilities and infrastructure professional who enjoys solving problems, improving workplaces and working with a wide range of people to deliver meaningful results?

We are looking for a proactive and organised Facilities and Infrastructure Manager to oversee the maintenance, development and day to day management of a busy operational site. This is a varied role where you will help ensure that buildings, facilities and infrastructure support operational delivery while providing a safe, compliant and effective working environment for everyone on site.

Working closely with internal teams, infrastructure specialists, contractors and safety professionals, you will play a key role in managing improvement projects, maintaining high standards across the estate, and supporting the long term development of the site.

Managing facilities, estate, ICT and infrastructure projects from planning through to delivery.
Acting as the main point of contact between site users, contractors and infrastructure partners, ensuring projects are completed effectively and with minimal disruption.
Overseeing the day to day management of site facilities and coordinating building maintenance activities.
Leading on health, safety, environmental protection and fire safety activities, helping to create a safe and compliant workplace.
Managing office moves, refurbishments and workplace improvements to make the best use of available space.
Providing line management, guidance and support to a member of staff while driving continuous improvement across facilities management processes.

Person specification

Experience managing facilities, estates, infrastructure or workplace services.
Strong relationship building skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly and keep people informed.
Good administrative and information management skills, including using Microsoft Office applications.
The ability to identify issues, solve problems and drive improvements to processes and services.

Desirable Criteria

NEBOSH General Certificate, if you do not hold this we will support you in achieving this during your first six months in post
Health, Safety, Environmental Protection and Fire (HSEP & Fire)

  The post does not offer relocation expenses. External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
