Stores Person

Holt Engineering are recruiting for a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Poole, we are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Stores Person to join their team on a permanent basis.

The company has a long history of delivering specialist engineering solutions across the maritime and defence sectors, manufacturing and supporting a range of technical products and systems. They offer a professional and well-organised working environment and are looking for someone who is keen to develop within a busy stores and manufacturing operation.

This is a great entry-level opportunity for someone looking to establish themselves within a professional engineering environment. The role is £12.71ph to start and is a straight permanent opportunity working a day shift Monday to Friday with an early finish on Fridays.

The duties for the successful Stores Person:

• Receive and check incoming deliveries
• Unpack, identify and store goods correctly
• Pick and issue parts and materials to the relevant departments
• Prepare items for production and dispatch
• Maintain accurate stock records
• Carry out regular stock checks
• Ensure stock is stored safely and correctly
• Move materials around the site as required
• Assist with general stores and warehouse duties
• Keep the stores area clean, tidy and organised
• Follow company procedures and health and safety requirements
• Work closely with the production and wider operations teams

The requirements to be considered for this Stores Person role:

• Previous stores or warehouse experience 
• A good level of attention to detail
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Comfortable carrying out some manual handling
• Good organisational skills
• Basic computer skills
• Able to follow instructions and company procedures
• Good communication skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Able to work well both independently and as part of a team
