About the role
Job summary
Working in the Sponsorship, Government and Parliament team, the Senior Manager will play a critical role in bridging the sponsorship, scrutiny and engagement functions and the work of the National Housing Bank (NHB).
You will be joining our experienced and collaborative team of 10 people (including two Senior Managers covering sponsorship and scrutiny activity, and cross government and parliamentary activity) to ensure that these services are provided effectively for the NHB.
Job description
The NHB is a subsidiary of Homes England and is a new government backed Public Finance Institution which will work with house builders, developers, investors and registered providers to deploy up to £16bn of debt, equity and guarantees.
This new role will ensure the NHB is effectively sponsored and supported to enable the smooth integration of NHB objectives, priorities, information, and relationships into Homes England Group governance, and the provision of an effective service to the NHB. You will become the expert on all things NHB, acting as the team’s ambassador into the Bank.
Working with key government and internal stakeholders and a professional team you will deliver first-class customer service, resolve issues informally, work in a collaborative manner and take an innovative and creative approach.
Person specification
You'll be an external affairs/stakeholder engagement specialist, comfortable supporting senior leaders with complex sponsorship, government and parliamentary issues, aiming to ensure the effective integration of the National Housing Bank within all that we do. You will be curious and willing to learn about the role and remit of the NHB.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and adept at managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a team.
You will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, in an innovative and engaging way and will be able to negotiate and persuade. You’ll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
