£15.25 per hour | Manufacturing Environment | Temp to Perm Opportunity
Jackson Hogg are currently recruiting for a Quality Gate Operative to join a growing manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a quality-focused mindset to join a company offering long-term opportunities and excellent employee benefits.
Working within the production environment, you will be responsible for carrying out inspections at key quality checkpoints throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring products meet customer specifications and company quality standards before moving to the next stage of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welding and fabrication-based components.
- Verify products against engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Identify, record and report defects, non-conformances and quality concerns.
- Work closely with production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Complete inspection records and quality documentation accurately.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and quality procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area at all times.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow inspection procedures and work instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer skills for recording inspection data.
- Ability to work independently and make objective quality decisions.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or quality inspection environment.
- Experience using inspection equipment, gauges, fixtures or measuring tools.
- Understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of quality standards and continuous improvement practices.
Hours of Work
Initial Training Period
Dayshift
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:00am - 12:30pm
Two Shift Rotation (20% Shift Premium)
Week 1 - Early Shift
- Monday to Thursday: 6:00am - 2:30pm
- Friday: 6:00am - 12:30pm
Week 2 - Back Shift
- Monday to Thursday: 2:30pm - 11:00pm
- Friday: 12:30pm - 7:00pm
Average 38.5 hours per week.
Pay & Benefits
Temporary Workers
- £15.25 per hour
- Overtime paid at:
- Time and a Half Monday to Saturday
- Double Time on Sundays
