About the role
THE ROLE
The successful candidate will focus on defending construction professionals, including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants, in relation to complex and high-value professional indemnity claims. You will advise insurers on construction-related coverage matters and take responsibility for managing matters from inception through to resolution.
Working alongside experienced Partners and colleagues across the wider Insurance Disputes team, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of substantial matters, develop strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice. The role will also involve supervising and supporting junior fee earners.
THE CANDIDATE
Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors with 8+ years’ PQE and substantial experience in professional indemnity and/or commercial litigation. Experience gained within a leading private practice, major insurer or MGA environment would be advantageous, as would experience advising insurers on construction coverage matters.
You will have a proven track record of managing complex, high-value claims, supported by excellent technical, drafting, and analytical skills. Strong commercial awareness, sound judgement, and a practical, solutions-focused approach are essential. You will also demonstrate excellent client relationship and communication skills, strong matter management capabilities, and the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Experience in supervising and developing junior lawyers would be an advantage.

The firm offers a collaborative and supportive environment where lawyers are encouraged to develop their careers, build strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of their practice.
The Insurance Disputes team is part of a wider national practice and provides exposure to sophisticated professional indemnity and construction-related disputes, working with a diverse client base across the insurance market.
THE PACKAGE
Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package including an annual firm-wide profit share award, generous pension with salary sacrifice options, five weeks’ annual leave with the option to buy or sell additional leave, enhanced family leave, income protection, life assurance, and a confidential employee assistance programme.
