Synergy Personnel Services has been exclusively retained to recruit a Senior Associate or Partner into a specialist Mines & Minerals team within a Top 50 UK law firm.

This is a rare opportunity to join a niche, high-value practice advising major operators, landowners, and investors across a technically complex and commercially critical sector.

The Opportunity

You will join a highly regarded Real Estate team with a dedicated focus on the mines and minerals sector—supporting some of the UK’s largest operators alongside private landowners and investors.

The team is recognised for its deep industry understanding, combining legal expertise with strong commercial insight to support clients across the full lifecycle of mineral and waste-related assets.

Work is varied, often complex, and frequently tied to wider real estate, environmental, and infrastructure considerations.

The Role

You will take a lead role advising on a broad range of specialist matters, including:

• Mineral options, leases, and licences
• Acquisition and disposal of mineral and waste sites
• Joint ventures and corporate transactions within the sector
• Environmental and regulatory compliance
• Planning, highways, and statutory undertakings
• Wayleaves, working rights, and access agreements
• Waste, recycling, and restoration-related property arrangements

You will also work closely with clients and their advisors as an embedded part of their commercial strategy, contributing to long-term asset value and operational efficiency.

The Candidate

This role is suited to:

• A Senior Associate looking to specialise further or step up, or
• An established Partner seeking a platform with greater autonomy and growth potential

You will demonstrate:

• Strong real estate experience, ideally with exposure to mines & minerals, energy, natural resources, or rural land
• A commercial and pragmatic approach to complex legal issues
• Confidence advising on technically detailed transactions
• Strong client management skills
• A following or clear business development capability (particularly at Partner level)
