Synergy Personnel Services, a specialist legal recruiter, is instructed on behalf of a leading UK professional services firm to recruit a Senior Associate or Partner into its established Private Client team in Chelmsford.

This is a key strategic appointment within a growing regional office, offering the opportunity to take a leading role in delivering high-quality private wealth advice to a diverse client base.

The Opportunity

You will join a highly regarded Private Client practice advising individuals and families on a broad range of personal legal matters, with a particular focus on wealth preservation, succession planning and complex estate administration.

The team provides bespoke, sensitive advice tailored to clients’ long-term objectives, supporting high-net-worth individuals and families across all aspects of personal planning.

Work will include advising on trusts, estate structuring and tax-efficient succession planning, alongside the administration of complex estates and ongoing trust management.

This role offers genuine scope to shape and grow a regional Private Client offering, supported by a well-resourced national platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Advising on a full spectrum of private client matters, including:
  • Wills and succession planning
  • Trust creation, administration and taxation
  • Estate administration, including high-value and complex estates
  • Inheritance tax planning
  • Powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters
• Acting for high-net-worth individuals, families and trustees
• Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
• Contributing to business development and regional growth
• Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers

The Candidate

• Senior Associate or Partner with strong experience in Private Client work
• Demonstrable expertise in trusts, estates and tax planning
• STEP qualification or working towards (desirable)
• Commercially aware with a track record (or clear potential) in client development
• Able to operate autonomously within a collaborative national team
