As a Registered Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping outcomes for children, ensuring compliance, and leading a team that makes a real difference every day.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide effective day-to-day leadership and management of the service, ensuring it runs safely, consistently, and in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Take overall responsibility for safeguarding practice, ensuring robust procedures are embedded and followed.
  • Ensure children and families receive person-centred, needs-led support that promotes positive outcomes.
  • Maintain high standards of care, monitoring quality through audits, supervision, and continuous improvement activity.
  • Oversee care planning and review processes, ensuring decisions are informed by assessment, risk management, and best practice.
  • Lead and support staff through supervision, training, and performance management to maintain a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, commissioners, partner agencies, and other stakeholders to support effective multi-agency working.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping, reporting, and documentation are maintained to a high standard.
  • Manage referrals, admissions, and placement-related processes in line with policy and safeguarding expectations.
  • Promote a culture of learning, reflection, and accountability, responding appropriately to incidents and complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and inspection frameworks, including timely submission of required information.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Level 5 qualified
  • Strong leadership and management experience within children's services, including the ability to drive quality and compliance.
  • Proven knowledge of Social Work - Children and Families, including assessment, care planning, and outcome-focused support.
  • Demonstrable expertise in Social Work - Safeguarding Children, including risk assessment, thresholds, and multi-agency safeguarding practice.
  • Relevant professional qualification in social work (or equivalent) and a clear understanding of professional standards and practice expectations.
  • Experience of managing safeguarding concerns, escalation processes, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken promptly.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and inspection requirements applicable to children's services.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage priorities, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines.
  • Competence in using IT systems for case recording, reporting, and service administration.
  • Commitment to reflective practice, continuous improvement, and staff development.
