Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: £92.56 - £95.00 per day

Randstad Education is currently recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) for a long-term position within an Alternative Provision in Plymouth.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an empathetic educational professional to support young people who face barriers to learning, helping them rebuild their self-esteem, grow their confidence, and re-engage with education in a safe, structured setting.
Key Responsibilities as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
Support young people in building their confidence, self-reliance, and resilience in education.
Assist classroom teachers in delivering engaging, accessible, and differentiated learning activities.
Employ effective de-escalation techniques and positive Beauvoir management strategies.
Foster an inclusive, encouraging environment that promotes student wellbeing and social development.
Requirements:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH, or within an Alternative Provision / Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting is highly desirable.
A patient, resilient, and adaptable approach to learning support.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport.
An Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
