About the role
Financial Reporting Council (FRC)
Senior Advisor
Salary: £23,292
Locations: London/Birmingham
The FRC performs a critical role, serving the public interest and supporting UK economic growth, by upholding high standards of corporate governance, corporate reporting, audit and actuarial work. The FRC regulates auditors, accountants and actuaries, and sets the UK’s Corporate Governance and Stewardship Codes, which promote transparency and integrity in business.
The FRC Board discharges some of its responsibilities directly and others through its two governance Committees and its regulatory Committee (Conduct). The Conduct Committee provides oversight of the FRC’s enquiries, investigations and enforcement function, ensuring that appropriate cases are investigated and conducted fairly, in the public interest, and in accordance with due process and the Regulators’ Code. The Committee determines whether the thresholds for opening investigations are met. It also takes decisions about the publication of its findings and investigation outcomes.
As Senior Advisor, you will join the Conduct Committee, and bring the benefit of your expertise to bear in offering technical guidance to the FRC, predominantly the Conduct Committee, Enforcement Division and Supervision Division. As a senior qualified accountant/auditor, you will possess an in-depth knowledge of ethical and technical standards relevant to UK financial reporting and statutory audits, with extensive experience as a senior Audit Partner, Finance Director or Audit Committee Member of a large company.
