The Role

Joneshouse Recruitment is recruiting for a Deputy Home Manager to support a children’s residential home in Royston. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager looking to take the next step in their career.

As Deputy Home Manager, you will be a key member of the leadership team, supporting the day-to-day running of the home and contributing to the ongoing development of high-quality, therapeutic care for children and young people.

You will play an active role in shaping practice, supporting staff, and maintaining compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards, while developing the skills required to progress into a Registered Manager role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the home

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise staff to deliver high-quality, child-centred care

  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies

  • Promote a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to care

  • Support recruitment, induction, training, and development of staff

  • Assist with rota management and budget oversight

  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding policies, and company procedures

  • Step up to manage the home in the absence of the Registered Manager

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Children’s Residential Home at Senior or Deputy level

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People (or equivalent)

  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures

  • Experience managing staff rotas and supporting budgets

  • Full UK driving licence
