Location: Bromsgrove, Worcestershire (B60)
Salary: £24,570 – £25,935 per annum
Hours: Full Time, Permanent (37.5 hours per week)

Role Purpose
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning for pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviours. This role plays a key part in helping students access education, build independence, and achieve positive outcomes in a supportive and structured environment.

This is an Outstanding independent special educational needs school operating across two sites.
The school supports young people aged 11–19, primarily with autism and associated needs. Students benefit from a calm, low-sensory environment and an ambitious, personalised curriculum that includes GCSEs and enrichment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Support pupils with learning activities, adapting approaches to meet individual needs under teacher direction

Promote social, emotional, and behavioural development using trauma-informed practices

Support behaviour management in line with school policies and professional standards

Encourage engagement, confidence, and independence in learning

Assist with classroom organisation and preparation of learning resources

Support the monitoring and recording of pupil progress as directed

Help maintain a safe, clean, and positive learning environment
Requirements
-
Relevant education or training, with a willingness to undertake further professional development
-
Experience supporting pupils in an education or care setting
-
Experience working with pupils with SEND and complex needs
-
Understanding of safeguarding, behaviour management, and SEND principles
-
Ability to work effectively under the direction of teaching staff
-
Strong commitment to safeguarding and professional conduct
-
A patient, empathetic, adaptable, and positive approach
