Staff Nurse – Surgical Ward

Radiant Jobs Ltd is recruiting an experienced Staff Nurse for a busy surgical ward in a London hospital. You will deliver safe, individualised and evidence-based nursing care across a varied surgical caseload while supporting efficient ward operations and multidisciplinary teamwork. This role will suit an adult nurse with strong acute or surgical experience who is confident taking responsibility during shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised nursing care.
• Maintain a safe, welcoming and professional environment for patients and families.
• Support efficient day-to-day ward operations.
• Undertake shift-leading responsibilities when required.
• Deputise for senior ward colleagues where appropriate.
• Support designated clinical link responsibilities and associated actions.
• Participate in clinical teaching and development activity.
• Maintain accurate records and work effectively within the multidisciplinary team.

Essential Requirements

• Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Minimum two years’ post-registration experience in a relevant ward speciality.
• Experience working within a busy acute or surgical environment.
• Experience of shift management and leading a team.
• Evidence of ongoing training and commitment to professional development.
• Strong communication, organisation and clinical decision-making skills.

Qualifications Required

• Adult Nursing diploma/degree or equivalent.
• Current NMC registration.
• Relevant post-registration qualification in stroke, acute medicine or demonstrable equivalent experience/competence.

Desirable Requirements

• Experience in stroke rehabilitation, acute medicine or related surgical specialties.
• Previous link-nurse, teaching or ward-leadership experience.
