About the role
Radiant Jobs Ltd is recruiting an experienced Paediatric Recovery Lead Nurse for a London hospital. You will lead paediatric surgical, anaesthetic and recovery services, ensuring safe, high-quality post-anaesthetic care for children and young people while maintaining strong clinical governance and regulatory standards. This senior role combines expert recovery nursing with leadership, education and service development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead paediatric anaesthetic, surgical and post-anaesthetic recovery provision.
- Provide expert post-anaesthetic care for children and young people.
- Lead and support the unit as rostered and provide specialist advice to colleagues.
- Ensure paediatric services meet relevant CQC and organisational standards.
- Plan and deliver individualised, safe and evidence-based patient care.
- Work closely with anaesthetists, consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
- Supervise, mentor and educate clinical staff.
- Complete risk assessments and support clinical governance activity.
- Contribute to paediatric emergency response and urgent care when required.
- Promote a safe, welcoming and family-centred environment.
Essential Requirements
- Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum five years’ experience as a Paediatric Recovery Nurse.
- Strong competence in post-anaesthetic recovery care.
- Demonstrable ability to deliver family-centred paediatric care.
- Strong leadership, communication and multidisciplinary-working skills.
- Commitment to clinical governance, education and continuous improvement.
Qualifications Required
- Registered Nurse qualification with current NMC PIN.
- Teaching or mentorship qualification.
- Recognised post-registration paediatric professional development.
- EPALS or APLS provider status.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous senior/lead experience within paediatric theatres or recovery.
- Experience within an independent hospital environment.
