About the role
Radiant Jobs Ltd is recruiting an experienced Payroll Administrator / Manager for a permanent opportunity in Liverpool. This role is suited to a capable professional who can deliver accurate, confidential and compliant payroll services. Working within Payroll & Shared Services, you will take ownership of payroll processing, statutory deductions, pensions, RTI submissions, reconciliations and employee queries. We are looking for someone who combines strong technical or professional capability with sound judgement, clear communication and a consistently high standard of service. Key Responsibilities
- Take day-to-day ownership of payroll processing, statutory deductions, pensions, RTI submissions, reconciliations and employee queries.
- Apply sound professional judgement to deliver accurate, confidential and compliant payroll services.
- Deliver work accurately, efficiently and in line with agreed deadlines and service standards.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues, clients, customers or stakeholders and provide timely updates.
- Maintain complete, accurate and appropriately confidential records and documentation.
- Identify risks, issues or exceptions early and take appropriate action or escalate where necessary.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team and contribute positively to service quality and operational performance.
- Follow all relevant legislation, professional standards, organisational policies and health & safety requirements.
- Look for practical opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, customer experience or outcomes.
- Maintain current knowledge, skills and professional development relevant to the role.
Essential Requirements
- Demonstrable experience working as a Payroll Administrator / Manager or in a closely related role.
- Practical experience relevant to Payroll & Shared Services.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a professional and service-focused approach.
- Excellent organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Confidence using the systems, technology and documentation required for the role.
- Understanding of financial controls and confidentiality.
Qualifications Required
- CIPP qualification desirable, with practical UK payroll experience.
Desirable Requirements
- Previous experience in a comparable Payroll & Shared Services environment.
- Additional relevant professional training, certification or membership.
- Evidence of continuous professional development and up-to-date sector knowledge.
- Experience improving processes, service standards or team performance.
- A proactive, dependable and solutions-focused approach.
