Software Engineer

Working within Software & SaaS, you will take ownership of software development, code review, testing, debugging, APIs, documentation, agile delivery and production support. You will be expected to become effective quickly, adapt to the client environment and deliver confidently from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day ownership of software development, code review, testing, debugging, APIs, documentation, agile delivery and production support.
• Apply sound professional judgement to design, build, test and maintain reliable software products.
• Deliver work accurately, efficiently and in line with agreed deadlines and service standards.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues, clients, customers or stakeholders and provide timely updates.
• Maintain complete, accurate and appropriately confidential records and documentation.
• Identify risks, issues or exceptions early and take appropriate action or escalate where necessary.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team and contribute positively to service quality and operational performance.
• Follow all relevant legislation, professional standards, organisational policies and health & safety requirements.

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrable experience working as a Software Engineer or in a closely related role.
• Practical experience relevant to Software & SaaS.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a professional and service-focused approach.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and contribute effectively as part of a team.
• Confidence using the systems, technology and documentation required for the role.
• Good understanding of security, quality and documentation practices.

Qualifications Required

• Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
