Paediatric Nurse

An excellent temporary opportunity is available for an experienced Paediatric Nurse in St Albans through Radiant Jobs Ltd. The role sits within Health & Social Care and is aligned to Paediatrics & Private Healthcare. This role is suited to a capable professional who can deliver safe, family-centred nursing care to children and young people. Working within Paediatrics & Private Healthcare, you will take ownership of paediatric assessment, observations, medicines, escalation, safeguarding, family communication and documentation. We are looking for someone who combines strong technical or professional capability with sound judgement, clear communication and a consistently high standard of service. You will be expected to become effective quickly, adapt to the client environment and deliver confidently from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day ownership of paediatric assessment, observations, medicines, escalation, safeguarding, family communication and documentation.
• Apply sound professional judgement to deliver safe, family-centred nursing care to children and young people.
• Deliver work accurately, efficiently and in line with agreed deadlines and service standards.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues, clients, customers or stakeholders and provide timely updates.
• Maintain complete, accurate and appropriately confidential records and documentation.
• Identify risks, issues or exceptions early and take appropriate action or escalate where necessary.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team and contribute positively to service quality and operational performance.
• Follow all relevant legislation, professional standards, organisational policies and health & safety requirements.
• Look for practical opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, customer experience or outcomes.
• Maintain current knowledge, skills and professional development relevant to the role.

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrable experience working as a Paediatric Nurse or in a closely related role.
• Practical experience relevant to Paediatrics & Private Healthcare.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a professional and service-focused approach.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and contribute effectively as part of a team.
• Confidence using the systems, technology and documentation required for the role.
• Ability to work safely within policies, care plans and professional standards.

Qualifications Required

• Current NMC registration with paediatric/children's nursing qualification or experience.

Desirable Requirements

• Previous experience in a comparable Paediatrics & Private Healthcare environment.
• Additional relevant professional training, certification or membership.
• Evidence of continuous professional development and up-to-date sector knowledge.
• Experience improving processes, service standards or team performance.
