About the role

Radiant Jobs Ltd is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher for a temporary opportunity in London. The role sits within Education and is aligned to Special Educational Needs. This role is suited to a capable professional who can plan and deliver personalised learning for pupils with special educational needs. Working within Special Educational Needs, you will take ownership of EHCP-informed planning, teaching, assessment, interventions, behaviour support, multidisciplinary liaison and safeguarding. We are looking for someone who combines strong technical or professional capability with sound judgement, clear communication and a consistently high standard of service. You will be expected to become effective quickly, adapt to the client environment and deliver confidently from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take day-to-day ownership of EHCP-informed planning, teaching, assessment, interventions, behaviour support, multidisciplinary liaison and safeguarding.
  • Apply sound professional judgement to plan and deliver personalised learning for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Deliver work accurately, efficiently and in line with agreed deadlines and service standards.
  • Communicate clearly with colleagues, clients, customers or stakeholders and provide timely updates.
  • Maintain complete, accurate and appropriately confidential records and documentation.
  • Identify risks, issues or exceptions early and take appropriate action or escalate where necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team and contribute positively to service quality and operational performance.
  • Follow all relevant legislation, professional standards, organisational policies and health & safety requirements.
  • Look for practical opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, customer experience or outcomes.
  • Maintain current knowledge, skills and professional development relevant to the role.

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience working as a SEN Teacher or in a closely related role.
  • Practical experience relevant to Special Educational Needs.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a professional and service-focused approach.
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and contribute effectively as part of a team.
  • Confidence using the systems, technology and documentation required for the role.
  • Strong safeguarding awareness.

Qualifications Required

  • QTS with relevant SEN/SEND experience; SENCO or specialist qualification desirable.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience in a comparable Special Educational Needs environment.
  • Additional relevant professional training, certification or membership.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and up-to-date sector knowledge.
  • Experience improving processes, service standards or team performance.
  • A proactive, dependable and solutions-focused approach.
