Urgent Care Doctor

An excellent temporary opportunity is available for an experienced Urgent Care Doctor in London through Radiant Jobs Ltd. The role sits within Health & Social Care and is aligned to Public Sector & Private Healthcare. This role is suited to a capable professional who can assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting with urgent clinical needs. Working within Public Sector & Private Healthcare, you will take ownership of history taking, examination, diagnostics, treatment, prescribing, referral, safety-netting and clinical records. We are looking for someone who combines strong technical or professional capability with sound judgement, clear communication and a consistently high standard of service. You will be expected to become effective quickly, adapt to the client environment and deliver confidently from the outset.

Key Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day ownership of history taking, examination, diagnostics, treatment, prescribing, referral, safety-netting and clinical records.
• Apply sound professional judgement to assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting with urgent clinical needs.
• Deliver work accurately, efficiently and in line with agreed deadlines and service standards.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues, clients, customers or stakeholders and provide timely updates.
• Maintain complete, accurate and appropriately confidential records and documentation.
• Identify risks, issues or exceptions early and take appropriate action or escalate where necessary.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team and contribute positively to service quality and operational performance.
• Follow all relevant legislation, professional standards, organisational policies and health & safety requirements.
• Look for practical opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, customer experience or outcomes.
• Maintain current knowledge, skills and professional development relevant to the role.

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrable experience working as a Urgent Care Doctor or in a closely related role.
• Practical experience relevant to Public Sector & Private Healthcare.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a professional and service-focused approach.
• Excellent organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and contribute effectively as part of a team.
• Confidence using the systems, technology and documentation required for the role.
• Ability to work safely within policies, care plans and professional standards.

Qualifications Required

• MBBS/MBChB or equivalent, full GMC registration and licence to practise.

• Previous experience in a comparable Public Sector & Private Healthcare environment.
• Additional relevant professional training, certification or membership.
• Evidence of continuous professional development and up-to-date sector knowledge.
