About the role

Graduate Teaching Assistant

Could you support young children as they build confidence, communication and early learning skills? Are you a graduate looking to gain valuable EYFS and SEN experience in a primary school setting?

*** Graduate Teaching Assistant
*** September 2026 to July 2027
*** £85 - £92 per day
*** ‘Good’ primary school, Stechford
*** Group support across the EYFS SEN Hub

The Role:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across the EYFS SEN Hub, working with small groups of children who need additional help with learning, routines and communication. You will help pupils engage with play-based activities, develop confidence and take part in early learning tasks. You will also work closely with teaching staff to provide calm, consistent support throughout the school day.

The Candidate:

You should be able to build positive relationships with young children, follow guidance from staff and bring a calm approach to pupils who need extra reassurance. This is a strong opportunity for someone considering primary teaching, SEN, educational psychology or clinical psychology.

Requirements

  • 2:2 degree or above in a creative, education, psychology or early childhood-related subject.
    • A genuine interest in EYFS, SEN and early child development.
    • Strong communication skills and a calm, nurturing approach.
    • The ability to support play-based learning, routines and positive interaction.
    • Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.

The School:

This ‘Good’ primary school in Stechford provides a supportive EYFS SEN Hub for pupils who need additional guidance at an early stage in their education. Staff focus on structure, encouragement and positive relationships to help children feel safe, settled and ready to learn.
